Energy in Japanese: 元気げんき (げんき), エネルギー, 体力たいりょく, and 元気げんきをもらう

"Energy" in Japanese depends on what you mean. A person's energy and liveliness is 元気げんき (げんき). Energy as power or fuel is エネルギー. Physical stamina is 体力たいりょく (たいりょく), mental energy is 気力きりょく (きりょく), and being hyped up is テンションが高たかい. When someone's energy lifts you, you say 元気げんきをもらった.

English uses "energy" for a sleepy morning, a solar panel, and a friend who lights up a room. Japanese uses different words for each, and 元気げんき is the one you will use most.
