ufotable Cafe Tokyo: How the Weekly Lottery Works, What Is On, and Whether You Can Just Turn Up
ufotable Cafe Tokyo, run by ufotable, the studio behind the Demon Slayer anime, is in Nogata, Nakano City, and in Tokyo it is reservation-only. Bookings are a weekly LivePocket lottery, open from Wednesday 18:00 to Thursday midnight, with results by email from about noon on Friday; any cancellations are offered first-come from Monday 20:00. Bookings are limited to two people. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the booking guide I give Demon Slayer fans.
The café shares its address with Machi★Asobi CAFE Tokyo, ufotable's other café brand. The current collaborations, from October 2026, are below.
How do you book ufotable Cafe Tokyo?
Through the weekly lottery on LivePocket, linked from ufotable's reservation page. The Tokyo café, like those in Nagoya and Osaka, takes reserved guests only; the Tokushima and Kitakyūshū cafés are free entry. Each store announces the lottery on its X account every Wednesday.
| Step (official) | When |
|---|---|
| First round: lottery entry | Every Wednesday 18:00 to Thursday 24:00 |
| Lottery results | Every Friday from about 12:00, by email |
| Second round: first-come booking of cancellations | Every Monday from 20:00, only if there were cancellations; announced on X around 16:00 |
| Group size | Up to two people per booking |
Schedules can shift with the collaboration calendar, and the official page says to check the store's X account, or the LivePocket page if you do not use X. What collaborations are on at ufotable Cafe Tokyo?
From ufotable's page in early October 2026: a Demon Slayer full-series rebroadcast collaboration, "Musunda En", featuring the Mugen Train arc from 6 October to 1 November; a Tales of series 30th-anniversary collaboration, phase three, from 29 September to 25 October; plus a Demon Slayer Halloween event and Obanai Iguro's birthday event.
| Collaboration or event (official) | Dates (2026) |
|---|---|
| Demon Slayer full-series rebroadcast collab "Musunda En", Mugen Train arc | 6 Oct – 1 Nov |
| Tales of series 30th anniversary, ufotable × Production I.G, phase 3 | 29 Sep – 25 Oct |
| Demon Slayer Halloween event 2026 | 29 Sep – 1 Nov |
| Obanai Iguro birthday event 2026 | 15 Sep – 12 Oct |
Can you visit without a reservation?
For the café, no: Tokyo is reservation-only. For goods only, the official page says goods-only customers are admitted from 30 minutes after each seating starts, with café guests served first, so expect to wait. The café also asks people not to wait in nearby convenience stores, parks or residential streets.
This is the honest section. A weekly lottery with a two-person limit means you may not win on the week you want. If your Tokyo dates are fixed, enter every week that overlaps them, and have a plan B. Goods-only entry is the fallback, and Akihabara's shops carry plenty of Demon Slayer goods; animate Akihabara puts it on the Jump floor, animate Akihabara.
Where is ufotable Cafe Tokyo?
At 1-38-11 Nogata, Nakano City, Tokyo, in the Nagata Building, according to ufotable's reservation page. It is a residential neighbourhood, which is why the café is strict about queuing and waiting nearby. Check the store page for directions before you go.
Nogata is not near Akihabara, so plan it as its own outing. ufotable's other cafés in Nagoya, Osaka, Tokushima and Kitakyūshū run their own collaborations; Tokushima and Kitakyūshū do not need reservations.
