Square Enix Cafe Tokyo: The Shinjuku Café, the Akihabara Bars, and Where to Buy the Goods
Square Enix's café in Tokyo today is Officially Licensed SQUARE ENIX Cafe & Shop SHINJUKU, at 3-36-1 Shinjuku, right by JR Shinjuku Station's southeast exit. It opened on 12 June 2026, with goods on 1F and the café on 2F and 3F, and it runs a Final Fantasy X 25th-anniversary collaboration until 2 December 2026. In Akihabara, the same building holds Luida's Bar for Dragon Quest and the Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea Cafe. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and these are the Square Enix stops I suggest to game fans.
If you remember the old Square Enix Cafe in Akihabara, it is not on Square Enix's current list of related shops.
Where is the Square Enix Cafe in Tokyo?
In Shinjuku, on floors 1 to 3 of the Paselabo Tower, 3-36-1 Shinjuku, which its official page puts at about zero minutes from JR Shinjuku Station's southeast exit. The café is on 2F and 3F with a permanent menu themed on several Square Enix titles; 1F is a goods space open to everyone.

From 11 September to 2 December 2026 the café runs the Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary Cafe, in two halves: to 22 October, and from 23 October. The permanent menu continues alongside it.
What are Luida's Bar and the Eorzea Cafe in Akihabara?
Two Square Enix collaboration cafés run by Pasela Resorts in one building at 1-1-10 Sotokanda, three minutes from JR Akihabara's Electric Town exit. Luida's Bar, on 1F, is themed on Dragon Quest's famous tavern; the Eorzea Cafe, on 2F, is themed on Final Fantasy XIV. Both recommend booking.
| Café (official) | Booking | Time limit |
|---|---|---|
| Luida's Bar in Tokyo, 1F | Recommended; walk-ins if seats are free | Weekdays free entry, up to 2 hours when busy; weekends and holidays 90-minute fixed slots |
| Final Fantasy Eorzea Cafe in Akihabara, 2F | Online from 12:00, one month ahead; no phone bookings; walk-ins at the counter if seats are free | 90 minutes |
This is the honest section. These are themed cafés, so the draw is the setting and the collectables, and each charges a table fee on top of food. If you only want goods, Shinjuku's 1F, Artnia and Square Enix Garden need no booking. For how Tokyo's character cafés work generally, see anime collab cafés in Tokyo.
Where can you buy Square Enix goods in Tokyo?
At the Shinjuku Cafe & Shop's 1F goods space, at Artnia in East Shinjuku, and at Square Enix Garden in Shibuya Sakura Stage, which also sells games and music, with Sukueni Capsule Garden for capsule toys on the same floor. Akihabara's general shops also carry Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest goods.
If you shop tax-free, from 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport. Older Square Enix games and retro hardware are in Akihabara retro game stores.
