Tamagotchi Store Tokyo: Tamagotchi Factory in Harajuku and the Official Shops in Ikebukuro and Shibuya

Tokyo has three official places to buy Tamagotchi. Tamagotchi Factory ("Tamagotchi Fakutorī!"), a factory-themed shop on the 3rd floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado", opened on 22 November 2025 and sells shop-only items and a fill-a-bottle mini-figure experience. Bandai Namco's "Tamagotchi no Omise" shops are inside Bandai Namco Cross Store Tokyo in Ikebukuro's Sunshine City and Cross Store MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 in Shibuya, with Original Tamagotchi in many designs. On busy days the Harajuku shop may hand out numbered tickets. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the Tamagotchi list I give guests.

Where are the Tamagotchi stores in Tokyo?

What can you do at Tamagotchi Factory?

Shop and make. The concept is "experience": besides shop-only goods, there is "mini-tama tsumehōdai", where you buy a Tamagotchi-shaped bottle at the till, pick one of three cap colours, and fill it with mini figures of Tamagotchi characters and items, from candy to onigiri, within three minutes. The interior and the staff uniforms follow the "factory" theme.

This is the honest section. Popular releases at Tamagotchi Factory have been sold by lottery before, and the shop has run advance entry booking on its opening weeks. Check its official X account for entry and stock news on the day, and do not queue overnight or before the first trains, which the shop prohibits.

What is Original Tamagotchi?

Bandai's line of Western versions of the first Tamagotchi (1996) and the "Shinshu Hakken" Tamagotchi (1997), sold at Tamagotchi no Omise in many designs, including Japanese-pattern editions. Tamagotchi Paradise, the newer device, is also sold there, with some sale days by advance lottery.

If you shop tax-free on your trip, from 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport. For more official character shops in Tokyo, Tokyo Character Street at Tokyo Station is the one-stop option.

Is the Tamagotchi Factory worth visiting?

For Tamagotchi fans, yes: it is the brand's experience shop, with goods and an activity you will not find elsewhere. For a quick purchase, the Cross Store shops in Ikebukuro and Shibuya are simpler.

Harakado is a shopping building in Harajuku, so you can combine it with the area's other character shops, such as Kiddy Land and the Sailor Moon store.
