Shibuya Anime Shops: PARCO's Character Floors, Mandarake Shibuya and the Anime Center
Shibuya's anime shopping is concentrated in Shibuya PARCO, 15-1 Udagawachō. Its 6th floor, which PARCO calls "Cyberspace Shibuya", has Pokémon Center Shibuya, Nintendo TOKYO, JUMP SHOP, Capcom Store Tokyo, SEGA Store Tokyo, THE★JOJO WORLD and the Godzilla Store; its 5th floor has THE DORAEMON STORE and RADIO EVA STORE. A few minutes away are Mandarake Shibuya for secondhand manga and toys, and Tokyo Anime Center for exhibitions and pop-ups. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the Shibuya list I give guests.
Shibuya is official-goods-first; for secondhand depth, Akihabara and Nakano go further.
What anime shops are in Shibuya PARCO?
From PARCO's official floor guide: on 6F, Pokémon Center Shibuya, Nintendo TOKYO, JUMP SHOP, CAPCOM STORE TOKYO, THE★JOJO WORLD, SEGA STORE TOKYO, Godzilla Store Shibuya and THE GUEST CAFE BY PARCO; on 5F, THE DORAEMON STORE, RADIO EVA STORE and POP MART, among fashion shops.
| Floor (official) | Anime, game and character shops |
|---|---|
| 6F "Cyberspace Shibuya" | Pokémon Center Shibuya; Nintendo TOKYO; JUMP SHOP; CAPCOM STORE TOKYO; SEGA STORE TOKYO; THE★JOJO WORLD; Godzilla Store Shibuya; THE GUEST CAFE BY PARCO |
| 5F "Chaos Culture Geek" | THE DORAEMON STORE; RADIO EVA STORE (Evangelion apparel and goods); POP MART; Sylvanian Families |
Pokémon Center Tokyo compares the Shibuya branch with the others, and Jump Shop Tokyo does the same for Jump. For the Akihabara side of your trip, my Akihabara anime tour plans the floors around your series.
Where else should anime fans go in Shibuya?
Mandarake Shibuya, on B2 of the Shibuya BEAM building at 31-2 Udagawachō, five minutes from the Hachikō exit, is one large floor of secondhand manga, doujinshi, toys and vintage comics. Tokyo Anime Center, on the 2nd floor of Shibuya MODI, three minutes from the Hachikō exit, hosts rotating exhibitions and pop-up shops.
| Place (official) | Where | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Mandarake Shibuya | Shibuya BEAM B2F, 31-2 Udagawachō; 5 min from Hachikō exit | Secondhand manga, doujinshi, toys, dolls, cards, vintage comics |
| Tokyo Anime Center | Shibuya MODI 2F, 1-21-3 Jinnan; 3 min from Hachikō exit | Exhibitions (timed tickets) and pop-up shops (usually free) |
Tokyo Anime Center's exhibitions change every few weeks; in October 2026 it has an Angelique 30th-anniversary exhibition and a Love Live! Hasunosora pop-up.
Is Shibuya or Akihabara better for anime shopping?
They do different jobs. Shibuya PARCO is a compact, official-goods stop: several brand stores on one floor. Akihabara has far more shops, plus the secondhand, figure and retro floors that Shibuya mostly lacks. If you have one anime day, make it Akihabara; if you are in Shibuya anyway, PARCO's 6th floor is worth an hour.
This is the honest section. PARCO's 6th floor is popular, and some stores there, such as Nintendo TOKYO, use numbered tickets on busy days. Which Tokyo district for an anime tour compares Shibuya, Akihabara and Ikebukuro in more detail.
How does tax-free work in Shibuya PARCO?
Shop by shop. PARCO says there is no tax-free counter; each eligible shop handles it, and restaurants and service shops are excluded. Its 5th-floor service counter offers overseas shipping and same-day delivery to hotels, with some areas and hotels excluded.
PARCO also lists Alipay, WeChat Pay and UnionPay among accepted payments, with some shops excluded. From 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport; tax-free shopping in Japan after November 2026 explains.
