Jump Shop Tokyo: Where All Six Stores Are, Which One to Pick, and Why None of Them Is in Akihabara

Tokyo has five Jump Shops, at Tokyo Station, Tokyo Dome City, Shibuya PARCO, Ikebukuro PARCO and Tokyo Skytree's Solamachi, plus THE Jump Shop Jimbocho, Shueisha's own flagship in the Jimbocho book district. The official store list marks Tokyo Station and Tokyo Dome City as tax-free. There is no Jump Shop in Akihabara. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and Jump fans ask this before almost anything else.

Jump Shops are the official stores for Weekly Shōnen Jump series: One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Kagurabachi and the rest. Which one you visit depends mostly on where else you are going that day.

Where are the Jump Shops in Tokyo?

Five on the official store list, plus the Jimbocho flagship. The one most visitors reach most easily is at Tokyo Station, inside Tokyo Character Street on the B1 level of Tokyo Station Ichibangai. Shibuya, Ikebukuro and Solamachi are in shopping centres that are destinations anyway.

From Akihabara, Tokyo Station is two stops on the JR Yamanote line, so that branch is the easy add-on to a day with my Akihabara anime tour. The full list, from the official site:

Store Where Tax-free (official list) Also on the same floor or in the building
Tokyo Station Tokyo Station Ichibangai B1, inside Tokyo Character Street Yes Tokyo Character Street's other character shops
Tokyo Dome City Inside Tokyo Dome City, Bunkyō Yes Tokyo Dome City attractions
Shibuya Shibuya PARCO 6F Not marked Pokémon Center Shibuya, also PARCO 6F
Ikebukuro Ikebukuro PARCO main building B2F Not marked Ikebukuro station
Tokyo Skytree Town / Solamachi Tokyo Solamachi 4F Not marked Pokémon Center Skytree Town and Kirby Café, also on Solamachi's 4th floor
THE Jump Shop Jimbocho Sanseidō Bookstore Kanda-Jimbōchō main store, 4F Ask in store A large bookstore, in the book district

"Not marked" means the official list does not show a tax-free label for that store. Ask at the counter if you plan to spend over the threshold.

What is THE Jump Shop Jimbocho?

Shueisha's newest Jump Shop, opened to mark the publisher's 100th anniversary, on the 4th floor of Sanseidō Bookstore's main shop at 1-1 Kanda-Jimbōchō, in Tokyo's book district. It sells its own goods lines and runs collaborations with Jimbocho's old shops and restaurants. On normal days you can walk in; on busy days it may require an entry reservation.

Three things from its official site that visitors need:

If you love the books and not just the goods, Jimbocho is also simply a good neighbourhood for an hour of secondhand bookshops.

Is there a Jump Shop in Akihabara?

No. The official Jump Shop store list has no Akihabara branch. Akihabara does sell plenty of Jump series goods, at animate and in the secondhand figure shops, but the official Jump Shop experience is at Tokyo Station, a short train ride away, or at the other branches in the table.

This is the honest section, because a lot of itineraries assume every character store is in Akihabara. Several of the big official ones are not: the Jump Shops, the Pokémon Centers, the Kirby Café. They cluster in shopping centres instead, often on the same floor as each other. For Jump series goods in Akihabara itself, where to buy anime figures in Akihabara covers the secondhand side.

Which Jump Shop should you visit?

Tokyo Station if you are passing through or staying near Akihabara, because it is two stops away and tax-free. Shibuya or Solamachi if you want several official character stores in one building. Jimbocho if you want the flagship and its exclusive lines, and you have checked its X account for reservation days.

If your time is short, pair the Jump Shop with whatever else you are doing that day rather than crossing Tokyo for it. Solamachi is the strongest pairing for a character-store day: the Jump Shop, Pokémon Center and the Kirby Café are all on its 4th floor.

Can you buy Jump goods tax-free?

The official list marks Tokyo Station and Tokyo Dome City as tax-free. Bring your passport and spend ¥5,000 or more before tax in one store on one day. From 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport.

Tax-free shopping in Japan after November 2026 explains the new process step by step.
