Part of: Where to Eat in Akihabara: 11 Shops Compared

I ate here on 2 September 2026 and photographed the sign, the menu and my lunch. Every price below is what the shop's own paper menu and door notice said that day.
Jumbo Tacos, on the Kanda side of Akihabara. It serves one thing, Okinawa-style taco rice, in two sizes: half at ¥800–850 and regular at ¥1,200–1,300. It is open 11:00 to 20:00 with no regular closing day, according to the notice on the door, and it has about four seats plus take-away.

What is Jumbo Tacos?
A very small shop selling Okinawan taco rice and hard-shell tacos. The sign reads JUMBO TACOS in roman letters, with ジャンボ and タコライス above in katakana, and a red 沖縄 (Okinawa) tab on the left. Tabelog lists it as ジャンボタコライス 秋葉原店. Taco rice is rice topped with seasoned minced meat, shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato, a dish that came out of Okinawa.
I like it as a lunch that is different from the rice-and-set-meal shops near the station. If you are on my Akihabara anime tour and want something quick that is not a diner meal, this is an option.
How much does it cost?
Half portions are ¥800–850 and regular portions ¥1,200–1,300, so this is not an under-¥1,000 shop at full size. The half is the cheap way in. Here is the menu as printed on the paper menu on my table.
| Item | Half | Regular |
|---|---|---|
| Jumbo Taco Rice, cheese and vegetables (everything on top) | ¥850 | ¥1,300 |
| Jumbo Taco Rice, vegetables | ¥800 | ¥1,200 |
| Jumbo Taco Rice, cheese | ¥800 | ¥1,200 |
| Other items | Price |
|---|---|
| Jumbo Tacos, 2 pieces | ¥850 |
| Jumbo Tacos, 4 pieces | ¥1,600 |
| Extra sauce | ¥150 |
| Curly fries | ¥600 |
| Chili cheese curly fries | ¥880 |
| Tacos Dog (new item on a door poster) | ¥380 |

The menu marks the cheese-and-vegetable taco rice as the shop's recommendation. The combo is ¥1,500 flat: half cheese-and-vegetable taco rice or two tacos, plus curly fries, plus a canned soft drink. Changing the curly fries to chili cheese curly fries costs ¥200 more.
What does the taco rice look like?
Rice at the bottom, seasoned minced meat and cheese on it, a pile of shredded lettuce and two slices of tomato on top, all in a clear plastic take-away tray. I had it with curly fries and ate it at the shop's table. The photo shows the tray as served; I did not weigh it.

When the shop opened in December 2023, the Japanese site Akibaru reported a total weight of more than 500 g, with about 350 g of that being rice, and a regular price of ¥860–930. The menu I photographed is higher, at ¥1,200–1,300. I do not know when the prices changed.
What are the drinks?
Canned. Soft drinks are ¥250 each (Coca-Cola, Fanta Grape, green tea, sanpin-cha, which is Okinawan jasmine tea). Alcohol is sold for drinking in the shop only: Orion beer ¥600, highball ¥600, lemon sour ¥500.
When is it open?
11:00 to 20:00, with no regular closing day, as printed on the notice on the door. The notice adds that any days off or changes will be announced on the shop's social media, so check before a special trip. The shop opened in December 2023.

Can you eat in, and is there English?
Yes to eating in, but it is tiny. Tabelog lists four seats in total, two at the counter and one table. Take-away is clearly offered, with a bilingual 「テイクアウトできます / TAKE-AWAY AVAILABLE」 sign on the door. The menu has photographs of every dish and the dish names are printed in Japanese with English beside them (Jumbo Taco Rice, Jumbo Tacos), so you can order by pointing. I did not see a separate English menu, and I did not check whether staff speak English.

Can you pay with a card?
Unclear, so bring cash as a fallback. A PayPay sticker is on the front window, and I photographed a payment terminal on the counter. Tabelog lists credit cards and QR payments (PayPay, d Barai, Rakuten Pay, au PAY, Alipay, WeChat Pay) and says electronic money is not accepted. A December 2023 article said cash only. I did not confirm at the counter which is true today, so I am not going to guess.
Is there anything for vegetarians?
Probably not. Every taco rice on the menu is built on seasoned minced meat; the "vegetables" option just means extra lettuce and tomato on top. I did not find a meat-free dish on the menu, and I could not confirm what kind of meat it is, so if anyone in your group avoids pork or beef, ask the staff before you order.
Where exactly is it?
2-11-8 Kanda Suda-chō, Chiyoda-ku, ground floor of the Tamajin Building, according to Tabelog. Tabelog puts it 84 m from Iwamotochō Station; Akibaru put it at about six minutes' walk from JR Akihabara. It is on the Kanda side, away from Electric Town. Next door is a One Piece card shop with a red pirate sign, which is the easiest landmark.
How does it compare to the other places near the station?
Different food, higher price per portion. Shōwa Shokudō is a teishoku diner and IFU is a ramen shop where most bowls are under ¥1,000. Jumbo Tacos regular size is ¥1,200–1,300, so it is the dearest of the three at full size, and the half portion at ¥800–850 is the one that matches them. Choose it if you want taco rice, a plate with lettuce and tomato on top, or something to carry away. Go to IFU if you want a hot bowl for less, or to Go!Go!Curry for a one-dish curry.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need Japanese to order? Not much. The menu has a photo of each dish with English names, and you can point.
Can I take it away? Yes. A sign on the door says take-away is available, and the food is served in plastic trays.
Is the shop open on weekends? The door notice says there is no regular closing day. A 2023 article said Saturday and Sunday, which does not match the sign I photographed.
Sources and honesty note
Prices, menu items, drinks, hours and the "no closing day" notice are transcribed from photographs I took in the shop on 2 September 2026. The address, opening date, seat count and payment list come from the Tabelog page for ジャンボタコライス 秋葉原店, which I checked on 4 November 2026. The six-minute walk, the 500 g weight and the 2023 prices come from an Akibaru article dated 14 December 2023, shortly after the opening. I have not confirmed how payment works at the counter, what meat is used, whether there is an English menu, or whether staff speak English.
