TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO: Bandai's Figure Flagship in Akihabara, and the Rules Before You Buy

TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO is Bandai Spirits' flagship for its high-end figure lines, S.H.Figuarts and Chogokin among them, at 1-1 Kanda Hanaokachō, one minute from JR Akihabara's Electric Town exit. Bandai calls it its only flagship store in Japan. It has three zones: new items, a rotating exhibition, and a shop selling store-limited figures plus some regular releases. Tamashii Nations products are for ages 15 and over, and under-15s cannot buy them. I run private anime tours here most weeks, and this is the stop for guests who collect articulated figures.

The Japanese nickname is Tamashii Store, "Soul Store". A second Japanese store, in Osaka, is due to open on 2 December 2026.

What is inside TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO?

Three zones, from the official floor guide. The New Item zone shows the latest figures and prototypes of made-to-order items. The Event zone hosts themed exhibitions that change regularly. The Shop zone sells figures available only at Tamashii Nations Stores, plus some general retail releases.

What exhibition is on now?

Until 26 October 2026, the TAMASHII NATIONS LIVE ACTION FIGURE EXPO 2026: Kamen Rider's 55th anniversary and Ultraman's 60th anniversary in S.H.Figuarts, and Godzilla in S.H.MonsterArts. Under-15s need a guardian to enter during this event, and queuing the day before or early on the day is not allowed.

Event-commemorative items for each exhibition are sold online through Premium Bandai, which needs a free membership. On busy days the store may limit entry or hand out numbered tickets.

What rules should you know before buying?

Tamashii Nations products are for 15 and over; under-15s cannot buy them. The store uses face recognition at the till to prevent fraudulent purchases. Store-limited items can sell out temporarily, and some have purchase limits. The store does not answer questions about stock numbers.

This is the honest section. Lottery sales for some general releases are for CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS and require photo ID at pick-up; for overseas visitors the store recommends a passport. How do you get to TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO?

One minute on foot from JR Akihabara Station's Electric Town exit, two minutes from the Tsukuba Express Akihabara Station, or three minutes from Iwamotochō on the Toei Shinjuku line. The address is 1-1 Kanda Hanaokachō, Chiyoda City.
