Sanrio Puroland Tickets: The Two Things You Need to Get In, and How to Get to Tama
Sanrio Puroland is an indoor Sanrio theme park in Tama City, western Tokyo, and you need two things to enter: a visit reservation and a passport (entry ticket). The simplest way is an official e-passport bought online, which comes with the reservation; you need a free Sanrio+ account. Prices change by date, so check the official calendar. Reservations can be made on the day if there is space, but turning up without one means no entry, even with a ticket. It is about 30 minutes from Shinjuku by Keiō limited express to Tama-Center. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the Puroland checklist I give Sanrio fans.
From 11 September to 3 November 2026 the park is running its Halloween event, "PUROMONSTERSCRAMBLE".
How do Sanrio Puroland tickets work?
Puroland's entry rule has two parts. A visit reservation reserves your date; a passport ticket is your entry ticket. The official e-passport bundles both and is bought online with a Sanrio+ account. Other tickets, such as convenience-store or travel-agency tickets, still need a separate visit reservation, and some must be exchanged at the ticket counter.
| What you have (official) | What to do |
|---|---|
| Official e-passport (includes reservation) | Show it at the entrance |
| Other e-tickets, some convenience-store tickets, annual passport | Show the visit reservation and the ticket at the entrance |
| Travel-agency vouchers, some convenience-store tickets | Exchange at the ticket counter, then show the reservation and passport |
| Nothing yet | Buy an official e-passport online, or buy at the counter on the day (a reservation is still needed) |
The ticket counter opens 30 minutes before the park and stops selling 90 minutes before closing. Under the official rules, a reservation alone does not get you in, and a ticket bought without a reservation is not refunded if you are turned away. If you are pairing Puroland with an anime day, my Akihabara anime tour needs no reservation window.
How much does Sanrio Puroland cost?
It depends on the date: Puroland publishes a calendar with day-by-day prices for a Day passport and an Afternoon passport (entry from 14:00), in adult and child/senior rates. Adults are 18 to 64; the child/senior rate is for ages 3 to 17, high-school students and 65 and over. Children aged 2 and under are free.
| Passport rule (official) | Detail |
|---|---|
| Prices | Vary by date; see the official calendar |
| Day / Afternoon | Afternoon passports enter from 14:00 |
| Adult | 18–64 |
| Child / senior | 3–17, high-school students, 65+ |
| Free | Ages 2 and under |
| Other | PUROPASS (shorter waits, priority areas); annual passport with excluded dates |
This is the honest section. The official e-passport is cheaper than the counter, according to Puroland, but it needs a Sanrio+ account; set it up before your trip. Some shows and events need separate tickets or same-day numbered tickets, so read the day's schedule.
How do you get to Sanrio Puroland?
Take a train to Tama-Center: the Keiō line from Shinjuku (about 30 minutes by limited express), the Odakyū line from Shin-Yurigaoka (about 12 minutes), or the Tama Monorail from Tachikawa (about 23 minutes). From the Keiō central gate or Odakyū west gate, turn left and walk straight, then turn left at the crossroads past Oka-no-Ue Plaza; Puroland comes into view. A footpath suits strollers and wheelchairs.
| From (official access page) | Line | Time to Tama-Center |
|---|---|---|
| Shinjuku | Keiō line, limited express | About 30 min |
| Shin-Yurigaoka | Odakyū line | About 12 min |
| Tachikawa | Tama Monorail | About 23 min |
| Yokohama | JR Yokohama line, then Keiō from Hashimoto | About 60 min |
Tama is a separate day from central Tokyo. For Sanrio shopping in the city, Tokyo Station's Tokyo Character Street has a Sanrio shop.
What should you know on the day?
There are cashless coin lockers on the 3rd floor, a baby centre and first-aid centre on the 1st floor, and the 3rd-floor entrance shop takes delivery orders for goods bought in the park. Check the day's schedule for parades and shows, and the Halloween programme until 3 November 2026.
If you shop tax-free in Tokyo, from 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport; tax-free shopping in Japan after November 2026 explains. For more places Sanrio and anime fans visit, see anime places to visit in Tokyo.
