Odaiba Anime Stores: Gundam, Ghibli, Doraemon and Love Live! After the Statue

Odaiba's anime shopping is centred on DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, 1-1-10 Aomi. The Gundam Base Tokyo, the official Gunpla store, is on its 7th floor with a small ANNEX on the 2nd. Donguri Republic, the Studio Ghibli shop, is on the 5th floor. Doraemon Mirai Depart, on the 2nd floor, is closed for renovation until it reopens on 1 December 2026. Nearby, ODAIBA Gamers at DECKS Tokyo Beach is the official tie-up shop for Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue ended its display on 31 August 2026. Odaiba is on the bay, away from Akihabara, so plan it as its own half-day.

Which anime shops are in DiverCity Tokyo Plaza?

From each official page: The Gundam Base Tokyo on 7F, a roughly 600-tsubo Gunpla complex with zones for buying, building, viewing and learning; The Gundam Base Tokyo ANNEX on 2F; Donguri Republic on 5F; and Doraemon Mirai Depart on 2F, which is closed from 1 October to 30 November 2026.

Is the Unicorn Gundam statue still in Odaiba?

No. The official statue site says its display ended on 31 August 2026, after standing at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza's 2nd-floor Festival Plaza since 2017. The Gundam Base Tokyo, inside the building, is still open.

This is the honest section. Older travel guides may still list the statue as Odaiba's main sight. Without it, Odaiba is a shopping trip for Gundam, Ghibli and Love Live! fans rather than a photo stop. If Doraemon is your reason to go, wait until December.

What is ODAIBA Gamers?

A Gamers anime shop at DECKS Tokyo Beach Seaside Mall 1F, 1-6-1 Daiba, Minato City, listed by Gamers as the official tie-up shop for Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Gamers' other Love Live! shops are Harajuku Gamers for Superstar!! and the Love Live! floor at its Akihabara main store.

For Love Live! places in Akihabara, the first series' shrine, Kanda Myojin, is a short walk from the station.

Can you shop tax-free in Odaiba?

At some shops. Donguri Republic's DiverCity branch shows the tax-free mark on the official shop list; check each other shop at the till. From 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport.
