Part of: Akihabara Figures: Where to Buy New vs Used
Lashinbang Akihabara: AKIBA Flags, Radio Kaikan and DEEP BASE, and Which One You Want
Lashinbang, the secondhand anime-goods chain, has three stores in Akihabara. AKIBA Flags, its flagship, is on the 2nd floor of AKIBA Cultures Zone, 1-7-6 Sotokanda, for character goods, figures, plush, retro games and more; it was previously called the Akihabara New Store. The Radio Kaikan store, on the 5th floor, focuses on new and recent figures. AKIBA DEEP BASE, near Suehirochō, is for doujin and adult-oriented items and takes cash only. All three list tax-free service. I run private anime tours here most weeks, and Lashinbang is where guests find last season's goods at secondhand prices.
Lashinbang buys and resells anime goods, so its shelves are a record of what was popular a few months to a few years ago, at prices below new.
Where are the Lashinbang stores in Akihabara?
AKIBA Flags is about four minutes from the JR Electric Town Exit; the Radio Kaikan store is about one minute; DEEP BASE is about seven, or three from Suehirochō Station's exit 1. Lashinbang's own pages give these walking times and describe AKIBA Flags as its flagship.
| Store (official) | Where | Walk (official) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| AKIBA Flags (flagship) | AKIBA Cultures Zone 2F, 1-7-6 Sotokanda | ~4 min from Electric Town Exit | Character goods, scale and Ichiban Kuji and prize figures, plush and fabric goods, retro games, N gauge |
| Radio Kaikan | Radio Kaikan 5F, 1-15-16 Sotokanda | ~1 min | New and nearly new figures, trending character goods, premium video, books and games |
| AKIBA DEEP BASE | Akihabara SIL Bldg 3F, 4-4-3 Sotokanda | ~7 min; ~3 min from Suehirochō exit 1 | Doujinshi, doujin ROMs and goods, bishōjo games, related figures and tapestries; adult-oriented |
AKIBA Cultures Zone is the same building that has an @home cafe branch on its 5th floor; Radio Kaikan's other floors are in the Radio Kaikan guide. If you want the route planned around your series, my Akihabara anime tour does that.
What is the difference between the three Lashinbang stores?
Range and audience. AKIBA Flags is the broad flagship, where Lashinbang says its character-goods range and stock are largest. Radio Kaikan is the quick stop for this season's and last season's figures. DEEP BASE is a specialist store aimed at adult men's doujin and game fans, with a narrower, deeper stock.
This is the honest section. DEEP BASE's own page describes its customers as "gentlemen" and lists adult figures and adult comics among its buying categories; it is not a family stop. For everyone else, AKIBA Flags is the best single Lashinbang to visit, and Radio Kaikan is the one you will pass anyway.
Do Lashinbang stores take cards?
AKIBA Flags and the Radio Kaikan store list their payment methods on their pages. AKIBA DEEP BASE says plainly that it is cash only, in Japanese yen. All three list tax-free service for visitors.
Carry some yen for DEEP BASE and for small purchases elsewhere; cash or card in Japan covers how much. From 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport; tax-free shopping in Japan after November 2026 explains.
Can you sell to Lashinbang in Akihabara?
Yes, at all three stores, each with its own buying hours and categories. DEEP BASE buys only its specialist categories and sends other items to the other stores. Japanese secondhand shops generally ask for photo ID when you sell.
Selling is mostly useful if you are moving to Japan rather than visiting; for a short trip, buying is the point. How Japanese secondhand pricing and condition notes work is in where to buy anime figures in Akihabara.
