Karaoke in Akihabara: Pasela, Big Echo, and the Rooms Built for Gamers

Two big karaoke chains have branches by Akihabara Station. Karaoke Pasela runs AKIBA Multi Entertainment at 1-1-10 Sotokanda, the building that also houses the Dragon Quest bar and the Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea Cafe, and an Electric Town branch one minute from the station's Electric Town north exit. Big Echo, the DAM karaoke system's directly run chain, has three branches: Denkigai-guchi Ekimae, which offers a trading-card-game plan; Shōwa-dōri-guchi Ekimae, renewed with two TCG rooms; and Chūō-guchi Ekimae. Big Echo allows you to bring your own food and drink. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the karaoke list I give guests who want to sing after the shops close.

All rooms are private, so you sing only in front of your own group.

Which karaoke places are near Akihabara Station?

From the chains' official pages: Pasela AKIBA Multi Entertainment, about four minutes from the Electric Town exit near Mansei Bridge; Pasela Akihabara Denkigai, one minute from the Electric Town north exit; Big Echo Denkigai-guchi Ekimae, one minute from the Electric Town north exit; Big Echo Chūō-guchi Ekimae, two minutes from the Central gate and exit A1; and Big Echo Shōwa-dōri-guchi Ekimae.

What makes Big Echo good for card players?

Big Echo's Shōwa-dōri-guchi branch was renewed in January 2024 with two "TCG rooms", with drink holders beside the tables so cards stay clean, and you can play cards and sing at the same time. The Denkigai-guchi branch offers a TCG plan. Both allow food and drink to be brought in.

Big Echo's branches are DAM-run, so every room has DAM machines; the Shōwa-dōri branch lists the LIVE DAM AiR or LIVE DAM Ai flagship models. For Akihabara's card shops, see Akihabara card shops.

What should you know before going?

You book online or walk in; Pasela takes same-day bookings through its "Pasela NOW" service. Pasela's rooms are all non-smoking, with smoking areas on set floors, and both Pasela branches list step-free access, lifts, wheelchair-accessible rooms and multi-purpose toilets. Big Echo's branches list barcode payments including Alipay and WeChat Pay.

This is the honest section. Prices depend on the branch, day, time and plan, so check the branch's price page or ask at reception. For a large group, Pasela lists rooms for up to 60 and 80 people.

Do they have English?

Pasela's official site has English, Chinese and Korean pages, and lists free Wi-Fi, phone chargers and HDMI cables in every room. Big Echo's branch pages list free Wi-Fi and charging.

If you shop tax-free in the district, from 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport.
