I visited on 27 August 2026 and photographed the full in-store menu binder and the payment sticker at the register. Prices below are what was posted that day.
Yes, if you want a full aged-beef steak set for about ¥1,100–¥1,900, three minutes from the station, and don't mind eating in a basement. It's a lunch-only steak counter that turns into a completely different izakaya at night — the same room, the same address, two different names. I run anime tours nearby and this is where I send guests who want real grilled meat instead of another convenience-store rice ball.

What is Juke Steak?
A lunch-only aged-beef harami (skirt steak) counter in a basement below street level, three minutes from JR Akihabara. It opened in August 2022 next to the Akihabara Washington Hotel. Everything comes on a sizzling iron plate with rice, salad and soup.
Is Juke Steak the same place as the Tengu izakaya sign outside?
Yes — literally the same room. Juke Steak runs the space at lunch; at night it becomes 旬鮮酒場天狗 (Shunsen Sakaba Tengu), an izakaya, under the same operator, Ten Allied Co. This is exactly what a member of my tour team found when they registered the spot: "lunch is steak, night is izakaya service." The doorway sign out front carries both names stacked on top of each other for this reason.
How much does lunch cost?
¥990 for the plainest hamburg set, ¥1,100–¥2,300 for the signature aged-beef harami steak depending on size, up to ¥2,400 for the garlic-butter 1-pound cut. I photographed the in-store menu binder on 27 August 2026, so this table reflects current pricing, not a 2022 opening-week blog post.
| Dish (all sets include rice, salad, soup) | Price |
|---|---|
| Aged beef harami steak set — 150g | ¥1,100 |
| Aged beef harami steak set — 200g | ¥1,400 |
| Aged beef harami steak set — 300g | ¥1,800 |
| Aged beef harami steak set — 1 lb (450g) | ¥2,300 |
| Same, garlic butter version — 150g | ¥1,200 |
| Same, garlic butter version — 1 lb (450g) | ¥2,400 |
| Coarse-ground hamburg steak set — regular 225g | ¥990 |
| Cheese hamburg steak set — regular 225g | ¥1,300 |
| Chicken steak set | ¥990 |
| Cheese chicken steak set | ¥1,300 |
| Harami over garlic fried rice — regular | ¥1,300 |
| Harami over garlic fried rice — double | ¥1,700 |
| Harami + vegetable teppan set — 100g | ¥1,100 |
Rice comes in three sizes at no charge for the smallest: regular 180g (included), large 300g (+¥50), extra-large 450g (+¥100). Sauce is your choice of five: garlic soy (the shop's pick), savoury demi-glace, light onion, Japanese-style soy, or a newer tomato option. Extra sauce is +¥50, garlic butter +¥100, crispy garlic chips +¥150.

What should you order the first time?
The 150g aged beef harami steak set for ¥1,100 with the garlic soy sauce — it's the shop's own default recommendation and the smallest size still feels like a real meal once rice, salad and soup are added. If you don't eat beef, the ¥990 hamburg set is the same format with ground meat instead of steak.

Can I pay by card or IC card here?
As far as I could see at the register: yes to transit IC cards (Suica, PASMO and the rest of the national IC network), yes to JCB, American Express and Diners Club, and yes to QR payments including PayPay, d払い, au PAY, Alipay and WeChat Pay. I did not see a Visa or Mastercard logo on the sticker — if that's your only card, it's worth asking staff before you order rather than assuming.

What's the catch?
Lunch is short — 11:30 to 14:30 with last order at 14:00, and once that window closes the room becomes a different restaurant. There's no vegetarian option anywhere on the binder; every set is beef, pork or chicken. And because it's in a basement (B1F), you won't see or smell the food from street level the way you would with a ground-floor shop — the stairwell sign is genuinely the only clue it's there. I also didn't spot an English menu; ordering by pointing at the binder photos works, but don't expect translated text.
When should you go?
Lunch runs 11:30–14:30 daily (weekends included), last order 14:00. Arrive by 12:45 or so if you want a table without a wait — the akibaru.jp visit report I cross-checked found the room already at four occupied tables by 13:45 on a weekday. If you're after the night version instead, Tengu (izakaya) opens the same room from 14:00–23:00 Monday to Saturday and pre-holidays, 14:00–22:00 on Sundays and holidays, with all-you-can-drink banquet courses from ¥4,000.
Where exactly is it?
Kanda Sakuma-chō 1-8, Shin-Chiyoda Building B1F, Chiyoda-ku — about three minutes from JR Akihabara's Central exit (中央口), next to the Akihabara Washington Hotel. Go down the basement stairs under the yellow "ジュークステーキ" sign; there's no street-level storefront.

Frequently asked questions
Is Juke Steak the same restaurant as the Tengu izakaya sign out front? Yes. Both names point to the same basement room and address, run by the same operator, Ten Allied Co. Juke Steak operates it for the lunch steak menu; it becomes Tengu, an izakaya, at night.
Do I need to speak Japanese to order at Juke Steak? No conversation is required — the binder menu is all photos and prices, so pointing works. I didn't see any English text on it, though, so don't expect translated dish names.
How much does lunch cost at Juke Steak? ¥990 for the cheapest hamburg set up to ¥2,400 for the largest garlic-butter steak. The shop's own recommended first order, the 150g harami steak set, is ¥1,100.
Can I pay by card here? IC transit cards, JCB, American Express and Diners Club, plus QR payments like PayPay, are all shown on the register sticker. No Visa or Mastercard logo was visible, so carry a backup payment method if that's all you have.
What time does lunch end? Last order is 14:00, closing at 14:30. Go earlier rather than later — by early afternoon on a weekday the room was already filling up.
Sources and honesty note
Menu prices, sauce choices and the payment-method sticker are transcribed from photographs taken inside the shop on 27 August 2026. Address, phone number and lunch hours come from the operator's own store-locator page. Night-time izakaya hours come from a restaurant-directory listing, not the operator's site, so treat them as indicative. I have not confirmed whether an English menu exists on request, and no Visa/Mastercard logo was visible in my payment-sticker photo — both are noted above rather than assumed.
No affiliate links. I recommend this shop because it's a genuine local lunch spot near where my tours start, not because of any partnership.
