Ghibli Store Tokyo: All Five Donguri Republic Shops, and Which One to Visit
The Studio Ghibli store you are looking for is Donguri Republic, Ghibli's official goods chain, which has five shops in Tokyo: Tokyo Station (inside Tokyo Character Street), Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi, Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, and LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi. The first four show the tax-free mark on the official shop list. There is no Donguri Republic in Shibuya. I run private anime tours in Akihabara most weeks, and this is the list I give guests who ask where to buy Totoro.
The shop's full name in Japanese is Ghibli ga Ippai Donguri Kyōwakoku, "Donguri Republic, full of Ghibli". Inside the Ghibli Museum there is also a museum shop, but you need a museum ticket to reach it.
Where are the Ghibli stores in Tokyo?
From the official shop list: Tokyo Station Ichibangai B1, inside Tokyo Character Street; Solamachi 2F at Tokyo Skytree Town; Sunshine City Alpa B1 in Higashi-Ikebukuro; DiverCity Tokyo Plaza 5F in Aomi, Odaiba; and LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi 3F in western Tokyo. The first three are run directly by the company; the last two are franchise shops.

Which Ghibli store should you visit?
The one on your route. Tokyo Station is easiest for most visitors, and it sits among the other character shops of Tokyo Character Street. Solamachi suits a Skytree visit. Ikebukuro suits an anime day in Sunshine City and Otome Road. DiverCity is for Odaiba days. Tachikawa is far west, and worth it only if you are already there.
Tokyo Character Street's other shops, from the Pokémon Store to Jump Shop, are listed in Tokyo Character Street. For Ikebukuro, Otome Road and Anime Tokyo Station are a short walk from Sunshine City.
Is there a Ghibli store in Shibuya?
Not a Donguri Republic. The official shop list has none in Shibuya, or anywhere in central Tokyo outside Tokyo Station, Ikebukuro, Skytree and Odaiba. If you are in Shibuya, plan the Tokyo Station shop into another part of your day.
This is the honest section. "Ghibli store" searches turn up general souvenir shops with Ghibli shelves, which are not the same thing. If you want the full official range, go to a Donguri Republic. Popular items, especially new releases, can sell out at one branch and be in stock at another.
Can you buy Ghibli goods tax-free?
At four of the five Tokyo shops, which carry the tax-free mark on the official list: Tokyo Station, Solamachi, Ikebukuro and DiverCity. LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi does not show it. Bring your passport.
From 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport; tax-free shopping in Japan after November 2026 explains the change. Donguri Republic also has an official online shop, Sora no Ue, at donguri-sora.com.
