Maidreamin Akihabara: The Seven Branches, the House Rules, and Which One to Pick

Maidreamin, the maid café chain, has seven branches in Akihabara, all within a few blocks of the station: the Main Store at 3-16-17 Sotokanda, Akiba, Idol-dōri, Denkigai-guchi Ekimae, Chūō-dōri, Sotokanda 1-chōme, and LIVE RESTAURANT Heaven's Gate, the largest with 60 seats. Every branch has free Wi-Fi and phone charging, and every seat in every branch is non-smoking, including e-cigarettes. Families are welcome and children under primary-school age pay no entrance charge. You cannot touch the maids, and you can photograph inside only if no maids, kitchen staff or other guests are in the shot. I run private anime tours here most weeks. A maid café is not part of my tour, but when guests ask about one for their free time, Maidreamin is the big-chain, performance-style option I describe.

Maidreamin says it has 21 branches worldwide and about 800 maids; it calls entering "entering the country".

Where are the Maidreamin branches in Akihabara?

From Maidreamin's official shop list: seven Akihabara branches, ranging from about 30 seats to 60. Two share a building on Chūō-dōri, and Heaven's Gate sits by the station with step-free access for wheelchairs and strollers.

For how maid cafés work in general, prices included, see Akihabara maid cafés. For the figure, retro-game and secondhand floors around them, my Akihabara anime tour covers those; it does not include a maid café.

What are the house rules at Maidreamin?

From the official FAQ: no touching the maids; photos inside only if no maids, kitchen staff or other guests appear (photos and video otherwise fine); non-smoking everywhere, including e-cigarettes. The maids also put on stage performances, "otanoshimi-kai", every day at no fixed time.

Rule or service (official FAQ) Detail
Touching maids Not allowed
Your own photos Allowed if no maids, kitchen staff or other guests are in them
Smoking All seats non-smoking, including e-cigarettes
Children Families welcome; no entrance charge under primary-school age
Ice cream Free for children up to sixth grade
Seating for families Table seats recommended
Shows Stage performances by the maids, daily, no fixed time

This is the honest section. Maidreamin's style is lively: stage shows and an "entering the country" ritual. If you would prefer a quiet tea room, choose a different style of café. Its pricing has an entrance charge plus food and drink, so check the official price page before you sit down.

Which Maidreamin branch should you choose?

For a first visit, the Main Store; for a big group or a stage-show atmosphere, LIVE RESTAURANT Heaven's Gate with its 60 seats and step-free access; for convenience near the station, Denkigai-guchi Ekimae or Chūō-dōri. All branches offer bookings through the official site.

If your group includes people who are unsure about maid cafés, compare the styles in Akihabara maid cafés first. For families, Akihabara with kids has the wider day.

Is Maidreamin good for families?

Maidreamin says families and children are welcome: children under primary-school age pay no entrance charge, children up to sixth grade get a free ice cream, and table seats suit families. The chain is non-smoking.

If you shop tax-free in the district, from 1 November 2026 you pay the tax at the till and get it back after a customs check at the airport. For the rest of a family day in Akihabara, things to do in Akihabara has ideas.

A maid café on your own, the rest of Akihabara with me

A maid café is an hour you can plan on your own. If you would like the rest of Akihabara chosen around the series you love, Adventure in Akihabara with Anime is my private half-day walk, three to four hours, never shared with other guests. The price is on the tour page.
